Taste great with no sugar. Peel and core apples, add a bit of water to cook down, then use a potato masher to mash the apples. I like chunky applesauce. If you prefer smoother sauce run 1/2 the apples in your food processor. I run my jars with a bit of bleach in the dishwasher on quick wash, and heated dry to sterilize. Jar up and, water bath for 20 minutes. I recommend contacting your local cooperative extension for preserving instructions.
Dried red delicious apples cut on mandolin slicer with the medium blade setting. They take about 12 hours to dry in the Nesco dehydrator on 135 degrees. The dehydrator came with 5 trays. I added 2 more 2 packs of trays. Now it has 9 trays.
The dried kale on the lower right of the picture will be crushed and the larger stems removed, then powder in my blender.
