Finding out you have a food allergy can be devastating. I think my first thought was, "What does that mean?" You ask your doctor and he says just avoid that food. It's just a skin test. They aren't entirely accurate.

I am going to attempt to give you ideas and recipes on how to avoid corn. It can be quite the challenge.

Frozen Food

I have been having issues with plain frozen vegetables.  I would call the brand before buying.  I have been buying fresh beans at the fruit stand and canning them myself. I have a pressure cooker. You can also blanch any fresh vegetable and freeze. This is my solution for now. I am going to farmers markets and buying fresh. Today I am making apple sauce.  Find a farmers market in your area.  http://www.localharvest.org/

Nut Allergies - Watch out!

Watch out those with nut allergies.  You may only be allergic to 1 type of nut, however if you buy other ALREADY SHELLED nuts, they were probably shelled in a facitlity that also shells the type of nut you are allergic to.
